Back in the day, H&R Block used to lease all the vacant store fronts, fill them with cheap desks, their computer systems, and temporary hires from March until may. You could walk in, pay the fee, and have them do all the data entry and tax preparation. They made crap tons of money doing this, until turbotax and other companies realized people could buy the software for less than h&r charged. And didn't have to rent physical space and hire lots of temps.
